Hello, Colm.
You woudn't know me as we only spoke once or twice and very briefly in Molly Malones around the time of the Hunger Strike.
I've come across a 45 of yours that I got at that time. I like it very much, but would be happy to give it to you now. For all I know, you've run out of any of the ones you might have had. It's "The Right Honourable Bobby Sands" and "If I Could Talk to Francis Hughes". It's undamaged, but has no cover (if ever it had). Good songs both. You'd be right to be proud.

Just a note to say that I really enjoy your music and was wondering about a song of yours Tommy Makem told me about many years ago with Queen Vic being eaten by the Loch Ness monster. Some friends and I would love to see you live, do you have any gigs scheduled for the metropolitan New York, New Jersey area?

Hello, old friend! Glad to see you have some presence on the Internet. I'd love to be in touch; I promise not to bother you too much! Let me know where you are and I'll send you a copy of a weird and presumptive little trad CD some friends and I put together years ago. Wishing you well!

Colm, Hi, it's me from Poetry class. I really am enjoying your album. First off, the musicianship is amazing! The ballads, particularly "Bella Marie" and "Sunsets of Gold" are beautiful. "Reel in ..." and "Silver Star" are so charming. Hope you keep writing and performing. I'm sure I echo everyone in the class in thinking you should do poetry readings.
Sláinte agus táinte!

Hi - Many years ago I happened to be visiting Gordon Bok, when he played me a song he'd taped, of Tommy Makem singing over the telephone. It was 'I Held a Lady.' I thought Tommy had written it, but now his son thinks that you did. Whichever of you did it, I am dying to know if it was written in the style of Gaelic poetry?

It's a marvelously clever lyric, but after reading a little bit about the requirements of ancient Irish poetry, with all the alliteration and internal rhyme, I wonder if that was the point? Anything you can tell me would be appreciated. Thanks, Jo-Ellen

Well, Hello There Colm! It's been a long, long time - countries, continents, even, have intervened! I think it's probably FIFTY years!!! Delighted to see your success: I only knew of "Reel in the F'ing Light", which is magical, but now I can follow up on your successes! Many, many, many very, very, very Happy Memories of the Villas, Portrane, etc., etc. Please give me a shout if/when you see this. I would LOVE to hear from you. BTW, my daughter, Catherine, is in Vegas next week on biz, so it will be nearly like the Gallaghers and the Gavins touching base again. A LOT of water under that thar bridge......!! Very Best Love and Wishes from Dublin, Éamonn.

Hi Colm,

How are you? What are you doing to get radio airplay for your current release? That's what we do at Bryan Farrish Radio Promotion! Artists, bands and labels hire us to help them get national radio airplay and charting in the U.S. and Canada. I'd be happy to send you some details in an email if you like, just tell me the best email address to send them to. Also, if you send a hard copy of your latest CD over to me at the mailing address below (with attn: June) I will forward you some feedback on the music- but we do need the actual CD as opposed to a link or MP3. Let me know what you think!

Used to listen to you 20 years ago at Ireland's 32. Great times! Still have two cassette copies of "Voices of the Children in the night" but they are in sorry shape! Would love to purchase new copies if they exist, particularly of "Hi There, It's Me Again", "In China", "Round Liverpool Town", "Drop Your Tears On A Silver Star", & "Ginny Got the Fella From Islandrow". Great songs that I would love to hear again! Glad to hear you're still writing and playing. Take care!

At last success, I have been trying to locate you for years. (found Jimmy Hoffa twice and Amelia Earhart but you have proven very difficult indeed)
Seriously Tommy Makem mentioned you in a conversation and said he had no idea of how to contact you. So I have been on my search.
Simply put I really like your music and would love to hear more, do you have any recordings available aside from the ones by Makem and Clancy, and Christy Moore?
If you do please let me know and if you are planning any shows back east.
I have spoken to numerous people that would love the chance to hear you too.

Hi Colm, would love to get hold of a recording of "If you want to keep the beer cold..." we did back in the 70s with me on background vocals. You may have re-recorded it since as I see it's on a recent album. Will try to call for a chat sometime. Now living in Paris,France if you're ever passing through... best, Jean o'S.
